Crisp County School System
"Preparing students to make a difference in the new millennium."

Crisp County High School

The Crisp County School System is committed to improving the achievement of all students. Whether in pre-kindergarten or 12th grade, Crisp County students deserve and receive the best education opportunities available.

Reading, Language Arts, and Mathematics have taken a priority that has Crisp County students testing well above average in academic standard tests. The system boasts four quality elementary schools, a middle school and a new high school.
The Crisp County School System operates on the belief that all students are capable of learning and is dedicated to providing quality professional instructors that insure your child is given the best education Crisp County has to offer.

The four elementary schools, two primaries for kindergarten through second grade and two for third through fifth, maintain a low pupil to teacher ratio-providing students with more opportunities for small group instruction.

All four elementary schools have been designated Reading First schools under the state's new reading initiative. Under this model, students in K-3 receive three hours of reading instruction daily, including one hour of phonics instruction. Through tests, teachers are able to use their imaginations to experiment in both music and art.

The middle grades program (6-8) is designed to provide students with a well-rounded educational experience with the adolescent's special needs in mind. A math Elementary Schoolcurriculum, based on the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, is helping make math fun for all middle school students.

In Language arts, there are programs that include a reading program at grade 6 and literature at grades 7 and 8, as well as instruction in creative writing and English.

A variety of exploratory courses are offered in art, music, physical education, computers, careers and technology at the middle school.

Located in the old high school, the middle school offers students many extracurricular opportunities including band, cheerleading, football, basketball, tennis, the BETA Club, government and more.
