Also west of Leslie is the city of Plains, the hometown of President Jimmy Carter and the location of Jimmy Carter National Historic Site. 

Go north to Andersonville, you can visit the worldly famous civil war cemetery atAndersonville National Historic Site, which was once one of the Civil War's largest Confederate military prisons.
